System Requirements

• Hardware (minimum for Champ, your operating system may need more)
  • IBM compatible PC with a 486DX processor or later
  • 16MB RAM
  • 5MB hard disk space
• Operating system
  • Microsoft Windows 3.1x or
  • Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME or
  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows XP
• Compiler
  • Borland C++ 4.5 or 5.0x, or
  • Turbo C++ 4.5
  • Borland C++Builder and Borland's free C++Builder Compiler are not supported!
  • Microsoft Visual C++ is a dead product and will never be supported

Update: In the meantime, Microsoft Visual C++ has come back to life, and Borland has killed its C++ product line — strange things happen... There are currently no plans to port Champ to a new development platform.

• in the U.S. for $49.99 from the Borland eStore (search for "Turbo C++")
• in Europe for €49.99 from Borland Germany by calling 00800/26752638 (international free phone) and asking for item "TCB0000WWFS181" — they may not immediately recognize the product name, but they do have it in stock!

Evaluation License

You may freely evaluate the Champ Class Library for up to 60 days. The executables you create can use the full Champ feature set, but they will not run outside the compiler's integrated development environment. Of course this limitation does not apply in the registered version. See Licenses for details.

Installation Instructions

0. You must have a running installation of Borland C++ 4.5x, 5.0x, or TCW 4.5x.
1. Save the zip archive in a directory on your hard disk and unzip it.
2. Run setup and follow the instructions.
